The more we know about your preferences, the better we can cater to your needs! Do you dream of staying in luxurious lodges, having an unforgettable camping experience in the wilderness, or experiencing authentic African life during a homestay? Do you want to embrace adventure using public transport, enjoy a private driver, or drive the 4x4 yourself across the vast African plains? Are you looking for an adrenaline kick during an active trip or do you prefer to relax on the beach? Nothing is too crazy for us!Can you drive yourself in Tanzania?
We often advise against a self-drive adventure in Tanzania, especially if you're not familiar with African roads. If you really want to drive yourself, one of our other destinations might be a better choice. Many parts of Tanzania are difficult to reach by car due to the less developed road network, and with many rental cars, you're not allowed to drive to every destination. The main roads are often fine, but side roads quickly turn into impassable paths. If you still insist on driving yourself in Tanzania, don't rely too much on Google Maps, as it works less well in Tanzania. Also, keep in mind that people you encounter on the way usually don't speak English, so getting help can be a bit tricky. Always remember: safety comes first. To drive a car in Tanzania, you need an English-speaking driving licence. If you have a Dutch or Belgian passport, we recommend applying for an international driving permit.
Organised trip to Tanzania: what is the best time to book?
If you want to go on an organised trip to Tanzania, it's important to know when the best time to book is. Let’s be honest: last-minute bookings are possible, but some flexibility is required since we don’t purchase experiences and accommodations in advance. So, if you want to visit your favourite lodge, it’s advisable to book your organised trip to Tanzania at least six months to a year in advance. This way, you can ensure you get to do everything on your travel bucket list. How long does the booking process take with us?
The booking process doesn’t need to take long. On average, it takes about three weeks, depending on your availability for a phone call and any adjustments to your personal travel plan. Here’s an overview of the process: Once you've requested a non-binding travel advice, we aim to respond within an hour. However, please allow up to one business day to avoid any disappointment. We will send you an email with an invitation for a phone call with one of our Travel Consultants. During this conversation, the Travel Consultant will ask several questions to get a clear idea of your dream trip. There will also be time to brainstorm together and share more about your dream journey. Afterwards, the Travel Consultant will send you a fully customised travel plan. This can be further refined until you’re completely satisfied, and the excitement for your trip starts to build! An organised tour through Northern Tanzania: what does it look like?
