Mama Africa

Mama Africa is one of the best spots to eat in Cape Town with kids. While it can sometimes be a bit touristy and crowded, we totally understand why. Mama Africa offers great service and an amazing mix of vegetarian, fish, and wild meats like ostrich, crocodile, springbok, and venison. It’s a fun place to try something new while enjoying a lively atmosphere. Want to be sure of a table? Make a reservation in advance!

Moyo

Is there anything better than ending a beach day with a delicious snack and an incredible cocktail? On the Boulevard at Bloubergstrand, you'll find Moyo, a cool restaurant with a laid-back surf vibe. Enjoy stunning views of Table Mountain while sipping drinks practically with your feet in the sand. Perfect for relaxing and soaking in the atmosphere!

Salushi

The best sushi in Cape Town! And not only that; while you're enjoying the sashimi, salmon avocado, and maki rolls, you'll have a view of Cape Town's natural highlight: Table Mountain. Pair your meal with delicious sake or choose a fine wine from the extensive wine list. Not a sushi fan? No worries – Salushi also offers delicious noodles, salads, and curries. The options are endless!

Kloof Street House

Kloof Street House is cozy, intimate, and romantic. Set in a Victorian house with a charming courtyard and a garden full of twinkling lights, this restaurant offers a delightful menu. Looking for a romantic evening in Cape Town? Take your loved one and enjoy a meal in the garden. It's not the cheapest, but the quality of the meat (all organic) makes it worth it. Tip: try the ostrich here! Restaurant

La Colombe

La Colombe is known as one of the best restaurants in Cape Town, and for good reason. The food is exceptional—while it's on the pricier side, you get a fantastic evening in return. The service is outstanding, and the menu features a wonderful mix of gourmet dishes. How about ravioli with langoustine, cauliflower pumpkin curry, and coriander? The presentation is flawless, and just looking at the plates is a delight #foodporn. Tip: Be sure to reserve well in advance, as this popular spot is often fully booked.

Truth Coffee

This is a steampunk-themed coffee bar, a unique spot where the creators and owners aim to offer a coffee and food experience like no other. Truth roasts their own coffee, which is also sold in various shops and locations around Cape Town. So, if you're craving an incredibly delicious cup of coffee, unlike anything else, Truth Coffee is the place to be!

Gold

Gold is the perfect place to experience the authenticity of the Cape Malay community. This traditional group originated after Malaysians were traded as slaves by Dutch colonists from the Dutch East Indies. They were shipped out and ended up in Cape Town, which was a stop for ships traveling from Asia to Europe. Gold combines traditional African customs with modern techniques and flavors. Every dish on the menu is meant to be shared, and you'll receive explanations about the techniques, spices, and origins of each dish. In this restaurant, you can not only enjoy delicious food but also learn more about the diverse cultures and cuisines in Cape Town.

Yours Truly

In an artsy, trendy neighborhood full of galleries, you’ll find Yours Truly. They serve delicious coffee (yes, flat whites and cappuccinos), beautiful pastries, and sandwiches. In the evening, the café transforms into a restaurant with a fantastic menu and a bar featuring a DJ spinning some smooth background tunes. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy both a cozy daytime vibe and a lively nighttime atmosphere!

Beau Constantina

When you think of Cape Town, you think of wine. At the Beau Constantia wine estate, you can enjoy a delicious dinner (a beautiful tapas menu filled with meats, fish, and other delights) while taking in a stunning view over the vineyards and False Bay. Of course, you can also indulge in some excellent wine tasting here! It’s a perfect blend of food, wine, and breathtaking scenery.

Sidewalk Cafe

A super cute, small, and cozy little eatery. With great coffee, lovely breakfasts, salads, and plenty of vegetarian options, this café is a perfect spot to forget all your worries and find peace in its homely simplicity. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy the moment.

Ons Huisie

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At Ons Huisie on Bloubergstrand, you can enjoy it all. With a spacious terrace, great coffee, cold beers, and, of course, an unbeatable view of Table Mountain. What more do you need? It’s the perfect spot to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery! Huisje en boot

"From vast hilly landscapes in Masaai land to the dry desert and hot springs at Magadi, staying with a Masaai family and sleeping in a tent among the wildlife, having breakfast with fresh pancakes in the morning sun and going to bed after a beer by the campfire, it was an unforgettable holiday within a holiday.
