Off the beaten track to a green paradise: the Taita Hills

Welcome to the Taita Hills, where green takes center stage! Here you'll find winding shrubs, towering trees, and cultural richness. Blink once, and you might feel like you've landed in Indonesia, surrounded by vast rice fields and women with baskets on their backs. This hidden gem is part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, stretching into Tanzania, standing proudly above the landscape. Whether you're hiking or opting for a motorcycle ride, stunning views are guaranteed!

Few tourists are aware of this green paradise, so don't expect crowds!

Charlie’s Travels hidden gem: Mount Suswa

Just an hour and a half's drive from Nairobi, you'll find Mount Suswa. Despite its proximity to the big city, it feels like a completely different world up there. There are no designated hiking trails, no signs to guide you, not even asphalt roads. This volcanic mountain is home to a friendly Maasai community, living on the vast plains around the crater.

Hidden at high altitude: Chyulu Hills

You may have to search a bit, but nestled between Amboseli and Tsavo lies the Chyulu Hills. At an altitude of about 2,188 meters, you'll be greeted with stunning views of hills, volcanic craters, and solidified lava flows. This place is especially known for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Here at Chyulu Hills, there's always something new to experience. Want to spot wild animals? Check! Explore ancient caves? The deepest ones in the world can be found here. Looking for a romantic evening? The view and the stars shining brightly in the sky as your backdrop will take care of that. In short, this hidden gem in Kenya is definitely worth a visit.
