Mlilwane National Park
This park is located in the Ezulwini Valley. There’s so much to do here: hiking, biking, horseback riding, cultural activities, and game drives through the stunning nature.

Spotting wildlife
Mlilwane National Park is located in the ‘Valley of Heavens’… and for good reason, because this place is truly a paradise on earth. Also known as Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, this park offers an incredible experience! It is the oldest nature reserve in Swaziland and, with its vast diversity of wildlife and plant species, a fantastic park to visit.
When you hop into your 4×4 for a game drive and a real safari adventure, you’ll encounter plenty of wildlife. On the savannas and grasslands, you can spot jackals, zebras, wildebeests, kudus, and ostriches. And as soon as you get close to the water, you’ll likely find groups of hippos – and if you're lucky, even a massive crocodile!
Besides the many waterbucks, steenboks, and antelopes, you’ll also find monkeys here. Be careful—they might just jump into your car! Yes, really! Or even onto your bike… because in this reserve, you can actually go cycling, just like back home in the Netherlands. Hop on a mountain bike, and before you know it, you’ll be pedalling through a herd of bucks.
Do you already cycle to your grey office every day and want to do something different on your holiday? Then go for a hike, where you can experience the wildlife up close. But perhaps the most adventurous way to explore is on horseback—galloping through nature, the wind in your hair, spurring your horse on, and just going for it!

The most beautiful accommodations
After spotting all these animals and exploring the park with or without a guide, you’ll probably want to stay longer. And you can! There are multiple accommodations in the park, so there’s something for everyone. You can choose to stay in your own African hut, a room with an ensuite. Completely in style, but with all the necessary facilities close by.
If you're adventurous during the day but prefer a bit of luxury at night, you can stay at the beautiful lodge, where you’ll wake up to a fantastic view. For more adventure, you can also go camping. Pitch your tent in this stunning area, and who knows—you might hear wild animals quietly moving around your tent at night.
For the true Swazi experience, spend the night in one of the beehive villages. You’ll sleep in a grass hut with beaded curtains and a simple interior, but in the evenings, stories are told around the campfire. And even though it’s not a five-star hotel, after a long day, you’ll sleep like a baby!
