Tarangire National Park
Known for its baobabs, elephants, and serene atmosphere, Tarangire is also less touristy than the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The African sunset casting its glow over the diverse landscapes creates a mesmerising effect on the park. Tarangire is a truly magical slice of Tanzania.

Safari in Tarangire
Tarangire is one of the popular northern parks, boasting its own unique, baobab-filled landscape. It’s located about a two-hour drive from Arusha and just an hour away from Lake Manyara. The park is often combined with visits to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.

The key to the ecosystem
Tarangire National Park owes its name to the Tarangire River that flows through it. Besides giving the park its name, this river also ensures that animals can quench their thirst during the dry season. Even animals from southern Masai land rely on this river as a lifeline! Additionally, the Tarangire River is the key to the ecosystem that includes Tarangire, Lake Manyara National Park, and five wildlife areas in the region, stretching over an enormous area of more than 20,000 square kilometres!
Guaranteed elephant spotting
During a safari in Tarangire National Park, you can enjoy the rolling landscape, the baobab and acacia trees, and of course, the variety of animals to be seen. There’s an especially good chance of spotting elephants. Fun fact: Tarangire has the largest elephant population compared to other parks in Tanzania!
Accommodation
Is the safari alone not adventurous enough for you? Then you can always choose to camp in the park. You can do this in your own tent under the starry sky or in one of the huts specially designed for this!
If you’d prefer a bit more luxury, there’s always the option to stay in a luxurious lodge or continue your journey to the next destination.
