Tropical Beaches of Pangani
The pristine and untouched beaches of Pangani are a perfect place to stroll! Many cultures have gathered in this quaint coastal town, making it an interesting and diverse destination. There's plenty to do: diving, snorkelling, a boat trip – nothing is too wild!

Cultural Pangani
Pangani is located about 55 km south of Tanga and a little further north of the bustling port city of Dar es Salaam. In the 18th century, Pangani served as a starting point for various European missions and expeditions into the interior, as well as an export hub for slaves and ivory. The town was surrounded by plantations where enslaved people were forced to work. The Swahili culture, which is present along the entire East African coast, can be felt on every street corner. Take a historical tour through the town centre to learn all the details about the rich history of this place.

Endless beaches
Even when you're in the mood to relax on the beach, soak up the sun, and enjoy the sea, you're in the right place here. Pangani and Zanzibar are just a stone's throw away from each other, but in Pangani, you won't find large crowds of tourists. Pangani offers tranquil beaches with palm trees where you can unwind, mangrove forests you can explore by stand-up paddleboard or kayak, and sandbanks that you can visit by traditional dhow. These sandbanks form an atoll: a circular chain of islands founded on coral. This creates a stunning snorkelling paradise!
