Mkhaya Game Reserve
Mkhaya Game Reserve is renowned for its population of black rhinos, making it the best place to encounter one up close!

Rhino paradise
Mkhaya Game Reserve is the place to be if you want to spot a black rhino. Whether on foot or in an open Land Rover, you’ll explore the park with a knowledgeable guide. These guides can take you thrillingly close to the animals, making for an unforgettable safari experience!
Beyond rhinos, you might also find yourself face-to-face with elephants, elands, zebras, warthogs, and giraffes. Hard to believe that this park originally started as a sanctuary for the nearly extinct Nguni cattle! Over time, it expanded to protect more species, eventually becoming the stunning wildlife reserve it is today.

Romantic overnight stay at a unique camp
You’ll experience this magic firsthand when staying overnight in the park. A unique camp offers the chance to sleep in a half-open stone hut by the river, fully immersed in nature. At night, you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of the wild, and in the morning, you might spot kudus wandering through the greenery just outside your hut. There’s no electricity here, so your hut is romantically lit with oil lamps, candles, and torches. Gather around the campfire with a nightcap, taking in the breathtaking starry sky above. For the ultimate romantic experience, you can even indulge in a candlelit dinner in the bush. Pure romance!

Great Usutu River
After a romantic night and a refreshing nature walk, are you craving more adventure? Head to the Great Usutu River for an exhilarating white-water rafting experience! With its thrilling rapids and surging waves, this is a true challenge. And for the real daredevils, there's even an opportunity to abseil down a waterfall!
If heights aren't your thing, you can still take on the wild waters—this time in a tube! Drifting through the rapids on an inflatable ring might be even more exciting than rafting.
