Masai Tribal Trek
A rugged, self-developed route with a diverse and stunning landscape: savannah, rainforest, and desert. Together with our local Masai partner Robert and other Masai warriors, you'll make your way through the Loita Hills.

Kenya at its purest
Everyone knows the Masai. They are the emblem of the African tribe: tall, slender, and draped in red garments. They are nomads, but most tribes live around the national parks where many tourists visit. The tourism industry has commercialized them. Fortunately, a large part of them doesn't play along with this game. And that part, we can show you!

A rugged, self-developed route
In 2015, Charlie rode his motorbike towards the Loita Hills, where he met a Loita Masai named Robert. A hilarious daredevil, Charlie connected with him through a mutual Masai friend. Together, they developed the rugged, off the beaten path route, which takes you on a journey through a variety of impressive landscapes, including savannahs, rainforests, and deserts.
How does it work?
The trek lasts 3 to 5 days and is not for the faint-hearted. Together with our local Masai partner Robert, a few other Masai warriors, a goat, and some donkeys, you’ll make your way through the Loita Hills. It’s an adventure that combines physical challenges, healthy effort, and a deep sense of accomplishment. The Masai warriors will protect you from roaming wildlife. At night, you’ll sleep under the stars with the goat you’ve brought along for dinner. This trek is a great addition to our motorbike safari through the Magadi Desert!
