Masai Mara National Park
The crème de la crème of safaris. The Masai Mara is one of Africa's most famous national parks, partly due to the renowned Mara River where the Great Migration occurs annually. The Masai Mara is perfect for spotting the Big Five! How about camping right in the heart of the park?

De Big Cats of Kenya
The park covers 1,700 km² and borders the Serengeti plains. Two mighty rivers flow through the Masai Mara: the Talek and the famous Mara. This creates an ideal habitat for many herbivores, making the Masai Mara even more attractive to hungry predators: lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals are often easy to spot here. The unpaved roads in the park are passable during the dry season. During the rainy season, you’ll need a 4x4 vehicle and excellent driving skills.

The Great Migration
Are you visiting the Masai Mara in July or August? During this time, the park gets very lively. Not only due to crowds of tourists in safari vehicles but also because the animals are in abundance. Millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores migrate through the lush green area in search of food. During the dry season, these animals make their way from Tanzania to the Masai Mara, crossing the border in search of better grazing. The drier Serengeti can’t compete with the green, lush grasslands of the Masai Mara. As the rainy season starts in Tanzania, the wildebeests head back south, crossing the Mara River, where hungry crocodiles lie in wait. This results in a herbivore bloodbath and well-fed crocodile bellies. If you love action, make sure you’re in the Masai Mara during this period to witness a kill up close!
