Inhambane

Inhambane is also known as 'Terra de Boa Gente': land of the good people. It’s a small, old trading town where history can still be felt everywhere. In short, it’s a magical place!

Inhambane

Surrounded by dazzling white beaches and thousands of palm trees, you'll find the city of Inhambane. This town has around 70,000 inhabitants and is the second-oldest city in Mozambique, serving as the gateway to the Ponto do Barra peninsula, where Tofo is located. Good to know: Tofo has no banks or supermarkets, so you'll need to head to Inhambane for those.

The atmosphere and architecture in the city reflect the rich history of Arab traders who once flourished here. Today, Inhambane is best known for its stunning beach, which is also a fantastic spot for diving. There are also several great restaurants to check out, such as Fatucha Café, Restaurant Tic-Tic, and Fatima’s Place. The latter offers an incredible view from a beautiful rooftop terrace!
