Relax and experience Kenya in your own way

Arrival
All set for your Kenya trip? Head to the airport on time, pick a good film for your flight, and get ready for a warm welcome in Nairobi. This bustling city is the start of your Kenyan adventure, and it’s eager to greet you. Stroll through the backstreets of the capital, explore the streets on a bodaboda, unwind after your long flight in one of the trendy restaurants, or relax at your peaceful location in Karen. Karibu Kenya!

Masai Mara
Fly to the Masai Mara and catch your first glimpse of Kenya's wildlife from the air. The extension of the world-famous Serengeti – or vice versa – serves as the backdrop for the Great Migration, and further vast plains offer the ultimate safari experience. Animals are most active in the morning when the savannah is still cool, so you might be greeted by some big cats. Are you familiar with the BBC series Big Cat Diary? It was filmed here, so there's a good chance you’ll spot a lion or cheetah walking by. Leopards also make appearances, lounging in a tree or prowling along the road.

Nairobi
Fly back to Nairobi and stroll through the dusty streets of downtown Nairobi with former street children Kissmart, Donga, and Cheddaz. These three 'streetkids' grew up in Mathare, one of Nairobi's largest slums. In the past, they hung around the Central Business District (CBD) begging, stealing, smuggling, and dealing. Now, they share their street skills with you during a tour of the CBD! Thanks to this tour, the boys are able to create a better life for themselves, their families, and the new generation of street children from their slum. The boys will show you where they used to sleep as kids, the escape routes from the police, and tell you all about their time in prison. Prepare for a lot of intense stories, bizarre encounters, plenty of high-fives, cool dance moves, and most importantly, lots of fun. And don’t worry, with these guys around, you’re definitely safe!

Amboseli
After the luxury of the Masai Mara, it's time to experience some off the beaten track adventure. Together with our guides in Amboseli, you'll set off on a motorbike in search of elephants and other wildlife. With the sun on your face, you'll ride through the dust, literally going off the beaten path. You’ll zoom across the parched and cracked ground. Fun fact: people have drawn beautiful borders within the park, but do you really think the animals follow those? Of course not! The wildlife simply roams happily, heading to the places that interest them most.

Lumo
After the rugged Amboseli, you’ll head towards Lumo Conservancy. In this beautiful spot, you can enjoy bush dinners, night game drives, nature walks, and so much more. Together with the rangers from Lion's Bluff, you'll discover all the beauty this conservancy has to offer. It’s one of the favourite spots of many of our Charlie's Angels here in Nairobi. This is a place you definitely don’t want to miss.

Mombasa
Mombasa is described in many ways, but believe us when we say this city has an irresistible charm. It offers a melting pot of cultural influences, a maze of narrow streets, and laid-back coastal vibes. A visit to this urban gem by the coast is definitely a must. Thanks to its prime location on the Indian Ocean, Mombasa has influences from all over the world, something you can taste in the city's food culture. Wander through the local streets, markets, and squares. Blend in with the locals at the beach and try freshly caught fish at one of the many lovely restaurants.

Watamu
Watamu: an idyllic fishing village often referred to as the Little Italy of Kenya! The Watamu Marine Park is considered one of the best snorkeling and diving spots in East Africa. Apart from that, this village is the place to be for delicious Italian food. "Watamu" literally means "Sweet People," and most of the locals certainly live up to the name. The name originates from the time of slavery, when Arab slave traders would hand out sweets to the locals before placing them on boats... a bittersweet history. Sit back, relax, and enjoy everything Watamu has to offer: unwind by the beautifully blue ocean, visit the Gedi Ruins, Mida Creek, or spot sea turtles and dolphins from a boat.

Departure
Everything comes to an end, including this beautiful adventure through Kenya. Fully refreshed, you pack your bags to catch your flight home. With a healthy glow on your cheeks, you board the plane and, with your seat reclined, drift off to sleep, reminiscing about the amazing experiences you've had. Full of inspiration and with a wealth of beautiful memories, you open your front door. Untouched nature, abundant wildlife, an inspiring population, and vibrant cities. You now have enough stories to share later by the fireside with family and friends. Welcome home! An adventure is over, but you've gained a wealth of experiences.

What a refined balance between adventure and relaxation! Each lodge had its own charm, from infinity pools to intimate dinners under the stars. The organisation by Charlie’s Travels was flawless, and the personal touches, such as a private guide and a tailor-made itinerary, made it extra special.
Charlie’s Travels offered us a perfectly curated trip where comfort and adventure came together. From champagne at sunset in the Masai Mara to relaxing on a secluded beach in Watamu – every moment felt special and unique. The accommodations were stylish and exclusive, and we felt pampered everywhere we went. This is the way to truly discover Africa.
We’ve just returned from our trip to Kenya, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we were picked up in a private transfer to staying in exclusive lodges with phenomenal views (especially Sasaab Lodge) – everything was perfect. The service was impeccable, the food sublime, and the personal attention really made it special. The safaris were a dream; we saw the Big Five with a guide who shared so much knowledge about the wildlife.
