Arrival at the airport

Karibu Kenya! After wiping the sleep from your eyes, it's time to make your way to the exit of Jomo Kenyatta Airport. An interesting detail: the Nairobi airport is named after Kenya's first president, Jomo Kenyatta (1964-1978). Unlike at Schiphol Airport, here you don't walk through a passenger bridge directly into the arrivals hall, where you can comfortably step onto a treadmill and also be reminded to watch where you walk. No, this is where your journey to Kenya begins! Everything is a little different here. Follow the signs to immigration and, depending on whether you already arranged your visa in the Netherlands or not, join one of the queues. Not sure which row is the right one? No worries, there are helpful staff who are happy to help you!

Passport control

If you bought your e-visa online and printed it out properly, you will probably have to wait a little earlier for your luggage. If you opted for a Visa on Arrival, make sure you have 40 euros or $50 in cash with you. There is an ATM, but don't necessarily count on it working! Better safe than sorry!

Off on an adventure!

Now all you have to do is pick up your luggage and you are ready for your adventure! When you travel to Nairobi with us, hopefully someone will be waiting for you with a sign. There are cabs at the airport, but an Uber to your accommodation is cheaper and more reliable! Once you're comfortable in the back seat, here's some more information about this colorful city! "From vast hilly landscapes in Masaai land to the dry desert and hot springs at Magadi, staying with a Masaai family and sleeping in a tent among the wildlife, having breakfast with fresh pancakes in the morning sun and going to bed after a beer by the campfire, it was an unforgettable holiday within a holiday.
